Barolo Villero 2013

2013

Barolo Villero 2013 is a complex oenological experience. With its intense ruby color, it introduces an intriguing bouquet, featuring notes of dark cherry, damp earth, and exotic spices. On the palate, it offers a complex structure with layered tannins and flavors that oscillate between black fruit, incense, and a subtle hint of licorice. This Barolo is a celebration of gustatory complexity.

Vegetative cycle

Overall, 2013 can be described as a challenging year; however, those who demonstrated the ability to interpret the challenges achieved highly satisfying results. The start of the vegetative cycle was significantly delayed due to adverse spring weather conditions, and flowering occurred regularly in the second half of June, with no possibility of making up for the accumulated delay. This year we produced our 2013 Barolo Villero.

Climatic trend

During 2013, we saw a very slow start to spring, with unusually low temperatures in both March and April. Subsequently, May was characterized by heavy rainfall, while from June onwards the weather conditions gradually improved. Summer was favorable, without excessive heat, bringing benefits especially for late harvest vines, such as Nebbiolo. From August until the harvest, the weather was simply excellent for our 2013 Barolo Villero.

We had to be patient while waiting for the Nebbiolos to ripen optimally, concluding the harvest in early November. The result is an exceptional Barolo, destined to age beautifully and offer a wealth of complex aromas.
