Barolo Villero Riserva 2004

2004

Barolo Villero Riserva 2004 is an extraordinary wine that embodies the essence of Piedmont and the mastery of Italian enology.
After a long aging in oak barrels, it offers a complex bouquet with notes of ripe cherry, roses, tobacco and spices.

Vegetative cycle

Due to the rainfalls, the starting stage of budding was delayed; later, the absence of rain and dry weather facilitated cluster development.
Finally, the persistence of the anticyclone until October contributed to optimal grape ripening, especially for those varieties that ripen later, such as Nebbiolo da Barolo for our excellent 2004 Barolo Villero Riserva.

Climatic trend

The winter of 2004 brought on heavy snowfall and very low temperatures, followed by a spring characterized by persistent rains until early May. This allowed to recover the soil water supply.
In the following months, summer temperatures were moderate, without excessive temperature ranges and with a marked absence of precipitation. Starting in September, an anticyclone took over, providing sunny days, dry weather and temperatures slightly above the seasonal norm. This year we produced our excellent 2004 Barolo Villero Riserva.
