In Castiglione Falletto, in the hearth of the Langhe, next to the
historic old farm estate La Brunella, is a winery dedicated exclusively
to the production and maturation of the Barolo and its historic cru.
The winery is over 1000 square meters and is characterized by three
distinct areas: the underground ageing room, the ground floor and
the tasting room. The underground ageing room, where the maturation
and development of the wines occurs, has a capacity of 260 barrels
(225 liters), 48 casks (500 liters), 12 casks (1500-2000 liters) and
80.000 bottles. The level/floor is used for production work.
The tasting room offers visitors a panoramic view of the heart of the Barolo valley and the villages of La Morra, Barolo, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga.
Externally, the walls above ground are covered in oak staves, were removed
from barrels/barriques previously used in production of the Barolo itself.
From an aesthetic point of view two interesting results were obtained:
a reminder of the production cycle of Barolo (the essential use of oak)
and a strong link with the terroir eliminating any negative
impact. Developed by the Architect Guido
