VINTAGE

2000

WEATHER CONDITIONS

The winter had very scarce snowfalls and was followed by a rainy spring and then a long sunny and windy period.
From mid-August to mid-September, the area was affected by anticyclones that favoured high temperatures and a dry climate, with optimal conditions for harvesting.
Later, the weather conditions became partially unstable, with occasional rains alternating with sunny days.

And this is the fourth extraordinary vintage in a row! This vintage will be remembered in particular for the intense and complex aromas of our Barolo wines.

GROWING SEASON

Late-ripening black grape varieties gave excellent results; in particular, Nebbiolo for Barolo achieved perfect ripening, with proper

grape turgidity, high alcoholic strength, intense colour, marked and complex aromas, optimal structure and phenolic richness.

YEALD

The yield was slightly lower (between 5 and 7% less) than expected, but interesting in any case.
