2005

WEATHER CONDITIONS

The 2005 weather conditions were anomalous: a rather mild winter with low rainfalls, a cool spring with little rain, followed by a very hot June.
The first half of July was characterized by cool temperatures that later rose up; August was fine with temperatures below the average, early September was characterized by moderate rains followed by good stable weather until mid-October, when Nebbiolo for Barolo was already safe in wineries.

Our barolo wines show a perfect balance between alcohol and tannins, which give elegance and persistence, with the freshness of rose and wild berries in the nose.

GROWING SEASON

The growing season bore well the temperature changes of this anomalous year; or better still, grapes

were in optimal conditions and the temperature changes certainly favoured the development of aromas.

YIELD

The weather conditions did not favour quantity and a 10% reduction can be estimated in Barolo production compared to normality.
