VINTAGE

2011

WEATHER CONDITIONS

The winter was regular, with heavy rainfalls in March. Starting from April, temperatures rose, often reaching 20°C; the period was characterized by several changes in temperature.
In August, temperatures were quite high, while in early September rain fell, with lowering temperatures and a significant difference between day and night temperatures.

We will have Barolo wines with an optimum quantity of tannins, a good colour and a very interesting aromatic profile.

GROWING SEASON

The weather conditions affected grape ripening, with many difficulties for wine growers due to the lack of homogeneity in ripening. For later-ripening varieties,

i.e. in particular for nebbiolo for Barolo, the September rains were providential for perfect ripening and the excellent balance of phenolic components.

YIELD

The production yield for longer-cycle vines was much lower than the average, very variable depending on exposure; the drop may be even 15-20%.
