2014

WEATHER CONDITIONS

The winter was characterized by mild temperatures and the spring arrived gradually but precociously.
The beginning of the summer was characterized by average temperatures and above average rainfalls and very localized phenomena (the so-called “rain bombs”). A very pleasant September was followed by an October with significant daily temperature ranges.
It was a year in which the microclimate variability of the Langa valleys became particularly evident.

Grape harvest date
FROM 25 SEPTEMBER TO 6 OCTOBER

A difficult year, though the great efforts in vineyards gave exceptional grapes.

GROWING SEASON

The weather conditions made it necessary prolonged and gruelling working in vineyards that, in the end, gave great results, though with much fatigue. The ripening of nebbiolo for Barolo bunches

was perfect: healthy grapes with a very positive phenolic profile and a significant presence of anthocyanins.  Therefore, a good colour, a complex aroma profile and a remarkable longevity are expected.

YIELD

The production yield was generally below the average, but in any case affected by the microclimate; for Barolo, estimates are -10/15 %.
