WEATHER CONDITIONS

The winter was characterized by heavy snowfall that allowed excellent soil water supply. A mild spring followed from the end of February. Alternating rain fell between late May and the first ten days of June; no rain fell in July.
In late July, temperatures rose up to 40°C, but vineyards did not suffer thanks to the moisture in the soil.  The last part of the summer was characterized by normal conditions and cooler nights.

The wines are strong and well structured, but also fresh and elegant, show a good balance and are very pleasant to drink.

GROWING SEASON

In general, the growing season was around ten days in advance and blossoming started by mid-May. The heat did not stress vineyards and everything went on regularly, keeping the advance of about

ten days. The quality of grapes, with particular reference to Nebbiolo for Barolo, was exceptional: perfect ripening, optimum accumulation of polyphenols and excellent quality of tannins.

YIELD

Nothing specific to be mentioned, the yield was average.
