Barolo Cerequio 2015

Barolo Cerequio 2015 is an explosion of enthusiasm in the glass. Its fiery ruby color is a declaration of intensity. The bouquet releases notes of succulent cherry, wild violets, and bold black pepper. On the palate, the structure is full-bodied, with tannins that envelop the palate and a passionate array of flavors that vary among them.

Vegetative cycle

In 2015 as a whole, there was an early start to the vegetative cycle of about ten days, with flowering beginning in mid-May. High temperatures did not cause stress to the vines, and everything continued on schedule, maintaining the initial ten-day advance. The quality of the grapes, particularly for Nebbiolo da Barolo, was outstanding: impeccable ripening, remarkable accumulation of polyphenols and excellent tannin quality characterized 2015 Barolo Cerequio.

Climatic trend

The winter of 2015 saw heavy snowfalls, ensuring a rich water supply for the soil. A spring with moderate temperatures began as early as the end of February. Between late May and early June, rainfalls were occasional, with July being rain-free. Toward the end of July, temperatures soared to 40°C, but the vineyards held out thanks to the soil’s water reserves. The last part of summer saw normal weather patterns, with colder evenings. In this year we produced our 2015 Barolo Cerequio.
