Vineyard: in the territory of Castiglione Falletto; South; South/West exposure; clayey and calcareous soil with marls; depth on the marl 1 metre. The rootstock is Kober; age of vines 37 years on average; density of vines 4500/hectare.
Vinification: in red by crushing and destemming; fermentation in steel at controlled temperature for 21 days, successive skin submerged-cap maceration for 37 days. Racking for malolactic fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperature. Successive decanting and ageing in new small and second passage wooden barrels for at least two years. Afterwards, bottling and refinement in bottles for 3 years
Description: intense dark red. Very complex in the nose, with notes of ripe soft fruit, spices and pleasant scents of cocoa, liquorice, leather and coffee. Rich in long-lasting tannins and vanilla notes on the palate. An extraordinary wine, with a remarkable potential for ageing.
