Name: Barolo Docg Villero Riserva

Variety: 100% nebbiolo

Vineyard: in the territory of Castiglione Falletto; South; South/West exposure; clayey and calcareous soil with marls; depth on the marl 1 metre. The rootstock is Kober; age of vines 42 years on average; density of vines 4500/hectare.

Vinification: in red by crushing and destemming; fermentation in steel at controlled temperature for 21 days, successive skin submerged-cap maceration for 37 days. Racking for malolactic fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperature. Successive decanting and ageing in new small and second passage wooden barrels for at least two years. Afterwards, bottling and refinement in bottles for 3 years

Description: bright red colour with garnet red reflections; spicy aroma. Complex in the nose, with elegant and long-lasting scents of wood, balsamic vinegar and spicy notes. Elegant on the palate, with a good balance between tannins and succulence. Full bodied and inviting, with long-lasting notes of vanilla and cocoa powder. Marked attitude to ageing.
