Chardonnay 2019

2019

Chardonnay 2019, with its splendid golden color, is a tribute to delicate balance. This vintage gracefully navigated climatic challenges, resulting in a wine that reveals a bouquet of white-fleshed fruit, fresh flowers, and a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, it offers a light and refined structure with a vivacity that pays homage to the 2019 vintage as a year of refined elegance.

Vegetative cycle

After the long winter, the plant growth resumed smoothly. The unsettled weather with moderate temperatures continued throughout May 2019, confirming a delay of about two weeks compared to the vegetative growth pattern of recent years, but in line with a more traditional trend. The perfect year for our 2019 Chardonnay.

Climatic trend

Unlike the previous year, which was remarkably early, 2019 will be remembered for following a more typical path.
The agricultural season got off to a slow start due to a winter that lasted until February, causing a delay in spring, which was characterized by rainfall and low temperatures until mid-March.
Unstable weather with moderate temperatures continued through May. The hottest period of summer was between the last week of June and the first week of July, followed by days with milder temperatures alternating with precipitations.
At the end of July, the second heat wave of the summer occurred, which was followed by thunderstorms, albeit intense but not vine-damaging.
The rest of the summer was characterized by mild weather with sporadic and regular rains, which required constant attention to the vineyard health management.

Nebbiolo was harvested in the second half of October, and its analytical parameters were “classic,” with good sugar content and an excellent polyphenolic profile, indicating potential for structured wines with considerable aging potential. This year we produced our very first 2019 Chardonnay.
