The cellar
The new Barolo cellar, designed by Guido Boroli (an architect, the second of the four Boroli brothers), spans over 1,000 sq m and is located alongside the estate dating back to the 17th century, which has been restored multiple times.
The structure is spread over two floors: one underground and one above ground with a fully glazed projecting volume that houses the tasting room.
The underground floor serves as a cellar for maturation, aging, and refining, while the ground floor houses vinification, bottling, and packaging.
The tasting room is made of large windows overlooking the Piedmontese hills, from which guests can enjoy a panorama unique in the world, projected into the heart of the Barolo valley among the villages of La Morra, Barolo and Castiglione Falletto.
Externally, the winery is clad with seasoned oak slats derived from used barriques, a solution that, in addition to ensuring good thermal insulation, minimizes visual impact in the surrounding rural environment and gives the building a strong character, allowing the scents of wine and tannins to be perceived.
