Barolo Brunella 2019

2019

Barolo Brunella 2019 is a celebration of youthful freshness. Its vibrant ruby color is an invitation to enjoy its elegance right from the start. The bouquet is fresh and fruity, with notes of ripe strawberry, spring flowers, and a gentle hint of cinnamon. On the palate, it offers a youthful and lively structure, with agile tannins and a freshness that accentuates red fruit, mint, and a subtle touch of green tea. This Barolo is an invitation to savor its vibrancy from the very beginning.

Vegetative cycle

Following the long winter, plant growth picked up smoothly. The unpredictable weather, characterized by moderate average temperatures, persisted throughout May 2019, confirming a delay of approximately two weeks compared to the vegetative cycle of recent years, but in line with a more typical pattern. For 2019 Barolo Brunella it was an outstanding vintage.

Climatic trend

Unlike the previous vintage, which was particularly early, 2019 Barolo Brunella will be remembered for following a more traditional path.
The start of the agricultural season was slow due to the winter that lasted until February, causing a late spring with rains and low temperatures that persisted until mid-March. Unstable weather, characterized by moderate average temperatures, continued through May.
The hottest part of summer occurred between the last week of June and the first week of July, followed by days with milder temperatures alternating with rains. Toward the end of July, there was a second summer heat wave, followed by thunderstorms, albeit intense but not damaging to the vines. The remainder of the summer season was characterized by mild weather with sporadic and regular rains, which required constant attention by vintners to manage the vineyard.

Nebbiolo grapes were harvested in the second half of October, and their analytical parameters were “classic,” with good sugar content and an excellent polyphenolic profile, suggesting the potential for structured wines with considerable aging capabilities.
