The 2005 growing season bore showed remarkable resilience to this year’s out-of-the-ordinary temperature variations. Indeed, the grapes ripened under optimal conditions, and temperature fluctuations certainly contributed positively to the emphasis of aromas and flavors for our 2005 Barolo Cerequio.
The 2005 weather conditions were not ordinary: a rather mild winter with low rainfalls was followed by a cool spring with little to no rains and a particularly warm June.
The first half of July was characterized by cool temperatures which gradually rose; August was fine with temperatures below the average, while early September was characterized by moderate rainfalls, followed by a return to good, stable weather until mid-October, when our 2005 Barolo Cerequio was already safe in our cellar.
