September 2018, as has been the case for a few years now, showed favorable weather, contributing significantly to the quality of wines obtained from vines with a medium-long growing cycle, which took full advantage of this situation.
2018 began with a long winter and abundant rainfalls, which helped restore the water content in the soil, previously depleted due to the previous year’s weather conditions. This condition went on until early March, with temperatures below the average of recent years, leading to a slow and gradual vegetative recovery of the vine, which ended towards the end of the month.
Between the end of May and the beginning of June, in our viticultural area, we experienced a period characterized by numerous disturbances and heavy rains.
Summer developed gradually, with a noticeable rise in temperatures starting in mid-July.
Nebbiolo grapes for 2018 Barolo Cerequio was harvested following the traditional timing, in early October, and harvest operations extended for about three weeks.
