Barolo 1999 is a great Classic Barolo: it comes from the most prestigious vineyards of Castiglione Falletto. The 1999 vintage will be long remembered for its structure and density. The selection of the best parcels provides a perfect synthesis of the territory. After 18 months of aging in wood, in fact, they are blended and the wine is bottled.
Due to the consistent stability of the climate, the vegetative cycle of 1999 progressed smoothly; although the sugar accumulation levels are similar to those of the previous year, the total acidity has slightly increased. It can be said that the weather conditions have favored an optimal balance among the different components of the grape. We patiently awaited the completion of the production cycle to fully leverage the effects of temperature variations for our 1999 Barolo.
The favorable weather conditions in the early months of 1999 promoted a regular growth of the vines; the accumulation of heat and water supplies were optimal. The rainfall in mid-September did not jeopardize the health of the grapes; on the contrary, Nebbiolo benefited from it. After mid-September, high pressure brought sunny days with significant temperature variations, which will certainly enhance the aromas of 1999 Barolo.
