Barolo 2020

The 2020 vintage for Barolo was marked by complex but overall favorable weather conditions that enhanced the wine’s quality. Winter was mild, with above-average temperatures and scarce precipitation, followed by a spring with well-distributed rains that provided good water reserves. Summer was warm, with a few intense heat episodes but without extreme peaks. The temperature fluctuations between day and night, particularly in August and September, promoted excellent phenolic and aromatic ripening of the grapes, preserving acidity and enabling good concentration. Spring rainfall totaled around 250 mm, supporting the growth cycle and providing a steady water supply for the vineyards. Early in the year, temperatures were mild, with a warmer-than-usual winter. During summer, the weather was warm but without excessive heat, with maximum temperatures around 30-32°C in July and August. The quality of the vintage is excellent, yielding wines of great classicism and structure, with high drinkability and promising aging potential.
