Vegetative cycle

The late-ripening black grape varieties have yielded excellent results; in particular, Nebbiolo used for Barolo achieved perfect ripeness, with the berries exhibiting optimal turgidity, resulting in a 2000 Barolo with high alcohol content, intense color, expansive and complex aromas, excellent structure, and phenolic richness.

Climatic trend

During the winter of 2000, for the production of that year’s Barolo, there were scarce snowfalls followed by a spring characterized by abundant rains, and then a long period of sunshine and ventilation. From mid-August to mid-September, the region was influenced by high-pressure systems that brought high temperatures and dry weather, creating optimal conditions for grape harvesting. Subsequently, the weather conditions showed some degree of instability, with occasional rains alternating with sunny days, which enhanced the flavors of the 2000 Barolo.
