Following an unusually mild winter, the vegetative cycle kicked off considerably early, with flowering taking place between May 5 and May 10. Thereafter, a cool spell decelerated the phenological cycle, only partially mitigating the seasonal advance of the previous months.
The sanitary condition of the grapes in 2007 was exceptional, and the harvest began significantly earlier than usual. The overall situation of Nebbiolo da Barolo, at the time of racking, is looking superlative, with excellent alcohol contents and intensely fragrant aromas for a very good 2007 Barolo.
The 2007 Barolo proved to be a very unique and unusual one, with an extremely mild winter. The spring and summer that followed did not bring very high temperatures, with the exception of a few days in July characterized by scorching heat, and recorded little rainfall.
Throughout this period, constant ventilation kept humidity levels low.
