It is a wine of great class and aging, coming from one of Castiglione Falletto’s most prestigious vineyards.
Late-ripening black grape varieties gave excellent results; Nebbiolo da Barolo in particular achieved perfect ripeness, with correct berry turgidity, high alcohol levels for the 2000 Barolo Villero, intense color, broad and complex aromas, excellent structure and high levels of phenolic richness.
The winter of 2000 for the 2000 Barolo Villero had very scarce snowfalls and was followed by a rainy spring and then a long sunny and windy period.
From mid-August to mid-September, the area was affected by anticyclones that favoured high temperatures and a dry climate, with optimal conditions for harvesting.
Later, the weather conditions became partially unstable, with occasional rains alternating with sunny days.
