Barolo Docg Villero

Vegetative cycle

The good water supply in 2001 favoured early budding; from the month of May, the high temperatures allowed a quick development of the vines with a good leaf surface. Nebbiolo blossoming started in the last week of May; later, the development occurred regularly. The unstable period of September temporarily slowed up the ripening of black grape varieties, but the weather cleared up very soon and the Nebbiolo ripening turned out perfect, for an excellent 2001 Barolo Villero.

Climatic trend

The winter of 2001 for 2001 Barolo Villero was characterized by long rainy periods, allowing for good water supply in the soil; April was particularly unstable with a sudden lowering of temperature.
The temperature slightly raised above the season average from May; there were scarce rains in June and July, while it was very hot in August until the first days of September, with no rains; this was followed by a period of instability with lower temperatures.
