Barolo Villero 2012 embodies the harmony of the Langhe in every sip. Its brilliant ruby color introduces a harmonious bouquet, with notes of fresh cherry, wild rose, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it offers a perfect balance between silky tannins and complex flavors, ranging from red fruit to aromatic herbs. This Barolo is a sensory journey through the Piedmont hills.
The heavy rains recorded in June had an impact on the flowering phase, resulting in lower fruit set (lower number of grapes per bunch on average). This climatic trend undoubtedly benefited 2012 Barolo Villero.
Thereafter, the vegetative cycle continued in an ordinary way, and from the end of September, the strong daily temperature fluctuations contributed to generating extremely favorable quantities and qualities of phenolic substances, which will be particularly evident in Nebbiolo grapes for our 2012 Villero.
2012 gave a rather unusual winter: November and December were characterized by mild temperatures, with highs reaching 16 °C. Cold weather arrived in early February, bringing heavy snowfall and extremely cold temperatures, with lows reaching -15 °C.
Spring was cool and rainy, but in May temperatures rose sharply, reaching 17 °C. June was also quite rainy, followed by the arrival of summer with heat peaks of up to 38 °C in mid-August.
September proceeded smoothly, and from the beginning of October, the wide temperature range between day and night favored the ripening of Nebbiolo grapes for our 2012 Barolo Villero.
