The Nebbiolo grapes reached ideal ripeness, achieving a good balance of sugars, acidity, and tannins. Overall, this vintage looks very promising for Barolo, with wines that are structured, elegant, and long-lived, expressing the region’s characteristics to their fullest.

Climatic trend

The 2020 harvest for Barolo benefited from complex but overall positive weather conditions that enhanced the quality of the wine. Winter was mild, with little rainfall and above-average temperatures, followed by a spring with evenly distributed rain that adequately replenished water reserves. Summer was warm but without extreme peaks, with a few instances of intense heat, while the significant day-night temperature variations between August and September contributed to optimal phenolic and aromatic ripening, preserving both acidity and concentration.
